Album Cover Final Version

Hello fellow bloggers, after many hours of hard work I've developed an Album cover that I am satisfied with. I took into consideration the comments posted and decided to change the text by creating a simple logo using the name of my band. The logo was created in Illustrator, however, most of my work was done in photoshop. What inspired me most while doing this particular project was scanning in multiple items that i then brought in to photoshop to create the different textures and patterns.
I really hope you enjoy this composition...

Album Cover_V2 working progress

Hello fellow bloggers! here is a version 2 of my self portrait project. Considering the comments posted I've decide to make a few changes to the type along with some of the visual layers. I tried to tie the tittle of the album  to the composition. Hope you like it!

Self Portrait_ Update

I spent a lot of time debating between an album cover or a poster sheet, but after hours of working and creating a few rough versions i found my self to be more comfortable working with the album cover template. This first version has an image of myself along with several layers that include a few scanned images that add rich texture to the composition. My scans include; a piece of fabric, crumbled paper and a smooth piece of perforated mesh. I chose a dark tone palette of colors that range from black to gray, dark brown and red. My theme for this album cover is classic rock music, and therefore decided to give it a neutral tone with very few colors.

Artist Of The Day

My pick for artist of the day is Mark Schoening, who happens to be an inspiring artist from Los Angeles California. The reason why I chose him is because his bold and insanely abstract paintings really caught my attention. When I first saw his work I couldn't help but explore the whole piece to try and understand what he was trying to communicate. In his technique he used a combination of both live and digital painting creating an explosion color and contrast. One word to describe it: AMAZING!!!

My self Portrait Idea

This particular project might be a little challenging for me due to the fact that I dislike working on my own photographs, I usually work better with pictures of others, however I am always willing to challenge my self. My plan is to create an album cover that emphasizes on my eyes. For the background i hope to create n abstract effect with different textures and loud vibrant colors. So far it is just an idea and soon i will be posting a few thumbnails in hope to get some feedback on my work.
